We are Brian, Brendan, and Emma – AAPS Slauson Middle and Pioneer High students and the founders behind The Tuong Khuu Foundation (Khuu Foundation), inspired by our very special Dad and guided by Mom and a team of Board of Directors and advisors. The Khuu Foundation is a charity established in 2020 in memory of our Dad, known to many as Tom. The foundation is to serve as a light of Dad’s kind and compassionate spirit.
We believe that we can learn a lot from nature. Dad taught us to love the natural world and our vision is to help preserve and protect our ecosystems. Healthy ecosystems will provide everyone with energy, clean water, and clean air. They are vital for our welfare and survival and it is our job to take care of the planet.
The “A” in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) include humanities, language arts, music, visual arts, and design. “STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.” -The IAS Team
Continuing Dad’s giving heart has no end as we are inspired to live life like Dad, full of compassion and spontaneous acts of kindness that will be impactful through the years.
